Diane Begley Second Grade
|
Miss Begley grew up and still resides in Penn Hills. She attended St. Bartholomew from the first grade to the eighth grade. Miss Begley attended Penn Hills High School and received her Bachelor's Degree from Slippery Rock University. Miss Begley has taught at St. Bartholomew for over twenty-five years. |

Alicia Conn Fourth Grade
|
Mrs. Conn is a the fourth grade teacher at St. Bartholomew. She graduated from LaRoche College with a bachelors degree in Psychology. For several years, Mrs. Conn was a behavioral/instructional specialist within the Fox Chapel Area School District and The Bradley Center. She then went on to earn her certification on Elementary education at Seton Hill University. Prior to her current teaching position, Mrs. Conn was a substitute teacher at St. Bart's for the past two years. She resides in Washington Township with her husband and daughter. |

Christina Craver PreSchool (and more!)

Miss Craver is a new teacher here at St. Bart's. She currently resides in Penn Hills, and, along with her three younger siblings, attended St. Bart's from Kindergarten through eighth grade. From here, she continued on to Penn Hills High School and then Duquesne University. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in May of 2007. She began her teaching career at Elizabeth Seton Regional Elementary in a full-day Preschool program. This year, here at St. Bart's, she will be teaching three and four-year old Preschool classes, K-4 Spanish, 6-7 Art, and 6-8 Library and Spelling. She looks forward to getting to know all of the students. |

Lindsey
Eggan

This is Mrs. Eggan's third year teaching at St. Bart's. She attended St. Bart's as a student, then proceded to Oakland Catholic High School and Duquesne University where she graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in 2003. Mrs. Eggan has completed the Diocesean Induction Program. This will be her first year teaching pre-school. She is also teaching sixth grade Religion, Social Studies, Science, and Computer, as well as, fifth grade science and seventh grade English. |

Kevin D. Heid Gym

Mr. Heid attended St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin elementary school and Baldwin High School. He attended Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in the Science of Education with a Major in Health and Physical Education and a Minor in Health and Physical Fitness Management. Mr. Heid later attended Carlow University where he attained a Certificate in Elementary Education and Middle School Social Studies. Mr. Heid has taught at St. Bartholomew School since 1996. |

Karen Jedinak Fifth Grade
|
Ms. Jedinak earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Pittsburgh. She furthered her education at St. Vincent's Teacher Enhancement Institute. Her professional career has covered twenty-four years. Ms. Jendinak began her career as a fifth grade teacher at Winfield Elementary School in Butler County. She continued at St. Colman's School and taught all grades from pre-school through fifth grade. She has served as the Director of the ESAP program and Chairperson of the Primary Department. She has also served as a Coordinator in the Summer Enrichment Program, Outdoor Classroom, Math Family Fun Nights and the Math 24 Club. Ms. Jedinak served as a Faculty Representative to the Parent Teach Guild and Academic Chairperson for the Middle States Certification Committee. |

Mary Loera Spanish 4-8
|
Mrs. Loera graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Education in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a double major in Spanish and Comprehensive English. She is certified by the State of Pennsylvania in both areas. She introduced "Junior High Spanish" at St. Bartholomew in 1994 with eight students. The program has now grown to include Advanced Seventh and Advanced Eighth Grade Spanish, in which the students are learning high school material. Mrs. Loera has taught full-time in the Penn Hills School District High School as well as in the states of Arizona and Virginia. She is currently teaching part-time at St. Bartholomew and St. Irenaeus. |

Lynn McGreal Kindergarten
|
Mrs. McGreal received a B.S. in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Elementary School Administration from Duquesne University. She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. She has taught all levels - from kindergarten through sixth grade, however, her favorite is kindergarten. Mrs. McGreal established the first kindergarten program at St. Bartholomew's and was also on the committee to establish the Parent Teacher's Guild (PTG) at St. Bart's, serving on its board as prgram coordinator. She has taught at St. Bartholomew for twenty years and eight years at Word of God in Swissvale. |

Lillian Misko-Coury Music

Professor Misko-Coury retired from the Pennsylvania State University New Kensington after twenty-eight years as the Director of Music and Theatre. At Penn State, Professor Misko-Coury directed the band and chorus as well as produced and directed all the main stage, children's theatre, senior adult theatre, and summer children's productions. She received her three Bachelor's Degrees from Seton Hill University in Music Performance, Music Education and Liturgical Music. She received two Masters Degrees from Duquesne University in Music Performance and Music Education. She also holds a Master in Theatre Arts from the University of Pittsburgh. Professor Misko-Coury received a Doctorate in Performance from Belford University in California. She still performs on stage in operas, musicals and drama. She is a featured entertainer on radio and television as well as film. |

Donald C. Phillips Third Grade
|
Mr. Phillips teaches 3rd grade reading, math, phonics, and writing. Prior to coming to St. Bartholomew School in 2006, Mr. Phillips taught in the Penn Hills School District for 35 years. Mr. Phillips has a B.S. degree as well as a Masters degree from Slippery Rock University. |

Linda Pricer Principal

Mrs. Pricer has been a teacher at St. Bartholomew School for thirty-five years. She also attended St. Bartholomew School from grades one through eight. During her tenure at St. Bart's she has taught many different grade levels and subject areas. For the past twenty-three years she has worked with students in grades six, seven and eight. She presently teaches religion, science, reading, and art to the middle school students. Mrs. Pricer received both her Bachelor and Master Degrees from the University of Pittsburgh. She is certified by the State of Pennsylvania to teach middle school science, language arts and English. In 1999 she was awarded the Distinguished Graduate Award from the Department of Elementary School of the National Catholic Educational Association, and in 2003 she received a Golden Apple Award from the Diocese of Pittsburgh. Mrs. Pricer assumed the role of Principal of St. Bartholomew in July 2006. |

Barbara Sicilia First Grade |
Mrs. Sicilia has been a teacher in the Pittsburgh Diocese for 21 years. This is her first year teaching first grade at St. Bart's. Mrs. Sicilia started at the kindergarten program at her own parish, Incarnation of the Lord, on the North Side of Pittsburgh. She taught 1st through 5th grades there. Mrs. Sicilia received her Bachelor Degree from Duquesne University. She also spent 10 years at the University of Pittsburgh Research and Development Lab developing the Diocese's math curriculum. In 1997 she received a Golden Apple Award from the Diocese of Pittsburgh. |

Jill Smith Eighth Grade

Mrs. Smith has been teaching for six years. She is a graduate of St. Bartholomew School, Penn Hills High School, and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Masters in Education. Mrs. Smith is certified by the state of Pennsylvania to teach middle school math, as well as, all elementary subjects. Mrs. Smith is the advisor of the Service Club and is the coordinator of the St. Bart's Elementary Student Assistance Program (ESAP). |
